Empowering Women in Ministry

About Us

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our nonprofit, Triumph Over Trauma. Our mission is to serve as the hands and feet of Christ, dedicated to transforming lives one day at a time.

Our motto, “People don’t care about how much you know, but how much you care,” embodies our deep commitment to showing genuine care and compassion. And we do care—immensely.

In partnership with LIBERTY CHURCH OF BATON ROUGE and under the guidance of Apostle Robert Maxie Sr., we have been blessed with the opportunity to utilize a building where we can offer a range of essential services. These include providing food, daily supplies, clothing, and household items at no cost. Additionally, we will offer hot meals and showers weekly for the homeless, as well as local assistance with job applications, interview preparation, and counseling services for individuals, families, and groups.

While we have a dedicated team of volunteers ready to serve, we are seeking financial support to sustain and expand our efforts. We are currently applying for grants and state funding, but we also need immediate help. We humbly request your consideration of a monthly donation of $100 or any amount you are able to contribute for one year. Your generosity will be deeply appreciated and will make
a significant impact.

Founder

Dr. Aminga Maxie

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York Dr. Aminga Maxie is a vibrant woman with a love and passion for living a life fully fulfilled in & with Christ. Growing up in New York, Aminga was raised in an amazingly talented, strong and intelligent family, despite navigating generational addiction.

Cycles of trauma targeted her and her family, primarily due to drugs/alcohol & lack of confidence in Identity. It was strange to be a child seeing the workings of these traumatic cycles from the outside in, on her family. Knowing the power within them, but not knowing how to access and pull out their God-given authority and freedom over bondage. It was out of this burden that her passion & purpose was born: to bring the broken to the Healer.

Dr. Aminga Maxie currently serves as Senior Pastor of Liberty Church of Baton Rouge, alongside her husband, Apostle Dr. Robert Maxie Sr. Together, the Maxies have 6 beautiful children and 4 grandchildren. In 2018, Pastors Robert and Aminga planted Liberty Church in the heart of Mid-City Baton Rouge. A Recovery Church that has seen extraordinary growth in its short existence. Pastor Aminga and her husband have led the charge against substance abuse in the Baton Rouge area and surrounding communities, providing Christian Counseling, Treatment and a place where those suffering can find healing and deliverance through the power of the Holy Spirit. Pastor Aminga’s desire, is to challenge and equip God’s people to their full capacity while building God’s kingdom.

She is the CEO/Founder of Triumph Over Trauma, a registered 501(c) organization with a God-given burden for those bound in the effects of emotional, mental and spiritual trauma. What once began as a retreat for women in 2021 has expanded into a cross-functional ministry, with a vision to be used by God to break yokes, bring freedom and empower healing.
